Join anthropologist, ethnohistorian, archivist, educator and author David Lewis on Thursday, March 19 at 4:00 p.m. for a presentation on Tillamook Indians. What happened to the Nestucca tribe following the settlement of the north Oregon coast has been shrouded in some mystery. New research has revealed the story of the removal of the Nestuccas to the Salmon River Encampment in the 1870s after years of refusal and losses. In addition, a number of original placenames for the Tillamookan coast have been revealed and added to the National Geographic Names history database.

This event is free and open to the public thanks to the support of Seasprite, Clatsop County, Martin North. Seating for this event is limited, and the doors will be locked at 4:15 p.m., so arrive early.
