FIELD TRIPS

Field Trip Program

*We are currently in the process of restructuring the Field Trip Program. Please call the museum at 503-436-9301 for more information.

Our program “History Alive!” is a great opportunity for students to learn about history while having fun!

A generous grant from Juan Young Trust funded the development of curriculum for our program and the hiring of a certified teacher. Our field trips are tailored to three different grade groupings that address specific goals and content standards (see below).

Field trip topics include:

  • Lewis and Clark
  • Native Americans
  • Haystack Rock and tide pool education
  • Pioneer History AND MORE!

Combining a field trip to the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum with a field trip to Haystack Rock would integrate the subjects of ecology, geology, and history into a fun and rich field trip experience. Call to find out the best way to combine these programs.

Field trips at CBHCM are offered most weekdays throughout the school year. Each trip lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including museum browsing. Schools should provide at least 3 adult helpers. There are no fees for field trips. Contact CBHCM Program Director to schedule a field trip. Hope to see you soon!
