On Saturday, September 9, Tour day starts off at noon with the popular luncheon and lecture at the Cannon Beach Chamber Hall (207 N. Spruce). This event is sold out each year, so purchase your tickets in advance.

This year, we are excited to work with Dr. Doug Deur for the Saturday lecture. Dr. Deur is a cultural geographer, known widely for his studies of Native American land and resource tradition, as well as the environmental and cultural histories of National Parks in the American West. He is a resident of Arch Cape and local history guru. In addition to everything else that Deur does, he serves as a research professor in the Department of Anthropology at Portland State University and as an adjunct professor in the University of Victoria (BC) school of Environmental Studies. Dr. Deur has also written many popular books on local tribal traditions, plant foraging, and history. Deur’s lecture will focus on the unique history of Cannon Beach.

Tickets are available to purchase at the Museum, over the phone, or through the online gift shop.
