DESCRIPTION:The Cannon Beach History Center &amp\; Museum invites the publi
 c to attend the Historic Tales of the Oregon Coast Book Release Event with
  local author and photographer Gary Hayes on Saturday\, April 25 at 1:00 p
 .m.\n\nHayes will present his new book\, Historic Tales of the Oregon Coas
 t: From Shipwrecks to Scenic Destination\, accompanied by a PowerPoint pre
 sentation that brings the stories of the Oregon Coast vividly to life. Fol
 lowing the presentation\, copies of the book will be available for purchas
 e and signing.\n\nThis engaging program explores the rich and complex hist
 ory of the Oregon Coast\, from early exploration and international trade t
 o the impacts on Native communities\, and the rise of logging\, fishing\, 
 and tourism industries. Through compelling storytelling and historical ins
 ight\, Hayes traces the transformation of the Oregon Coast from an unknown
  frontier to one of America’s most iconic scenic destinations.\n\nGary H
 ayes is a native Oregonian with lifelong ties to the Oregon Coast. An exte
 nsively published photographer and writer\, his work over the past 25 year
 s has focused on capturing the landscape and stories of the region. Hayes 
 is the founder of Explorer Media Group\, publisher of Coast Explorer Magaz
 ine for more than two decades\, and has been recognized as an Oregon Coast
  expert by Travel Oregon. He lives in Cannon Beach with his wife\, Anna\, 
 and their dog\, Gracie.\n\nThis event is free and open to the public. Seat
 ing is limited.
