Appreciation Party

Posted on November 17th, 2012

Come one, come all, to the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum’s annual Appreciation Party on Friday, December 7th at 6:00 p.m. The festivities will begin with food, wine, and friends both old and new. At 6:30 p.m. the History Center will induct the 2012 History Heroes. This year three dedicated volunteers were chosen by the History Hero committee, the “Heroes” Sue Barr, Marilyn Dwyer, and Dolly Hutchinson have shown incredible loyalty over the years. Sue Barr donated a great deal of time designing CBHCM’s First and Second Editions of A Taste of Cannon Beach. She has been responsible for designing the Museum’s beloved historic calendars for the past few years. Dwyer is a dedicated volunteer that has been our weekend and Cottage Tour volunteer. She also delved into quilt making by creating the 2012 Cottage Tour quilt, A Day at the Beach. Hutchinson has been a dedicated volunteer pretty much since the beginning. She was instrumental in starting the very first Cottage Tour, the museum’s largest fundraiser and she is a constant resource and guide. She was also responsible for organizing the Museum extensive photo archives, quite a feat!

After the ceremony the festivities will continue with a raffle. This event is a way for the History Center staff and Board of Directors to thank our volunteers, sponsors, and members. The History Center would not be where it is today without its loyal and dedicated supporters. Come celebrate the way Cannon Beach used to!
